Emergency Nurse Staffing Services for Ontario Facilities

Home  →  Emergency Nurse Staffing Ontario

When an emergency department loses a nurse from the schedule, the clock starts on wait times, triage backlogs, and staff burnout. YTC Healthcare places CNO-registered emergency nurses in Ontario hospitals, urgent care centres, and clinics, usually within 24 to 48 hours of your request. We are a licensed Ontario staffing agency, permit THA-0000002579, with our head office in Mississauga. Send us the shift, the department, and the start time. We will send you a nurse who can work it.

When The Schedule Breaks At 5 A.M.

Emergency Nurse Cover for Planned Gaps and Same Day Call-Outs

Emergency departments do not get quiet weeks. A vacation block, a sick call at 5 a.m., a surge that fills every bay, all of it lands on the same schedule. YTC Healthcare keeps a ready roster of emergency-experienced registered nurses and registered practical nurses across Ontario, so a gap in your rotation does not become a closed section or a diverted ambulance, backed by our nursing staff and broader medical staffing solutions. We cover single shifts, block bookings, and longer contracts. You keep control of the department. We handle sourcing, credential checks, scheduling, and payroll.

Ready To Take Patients On Day One

Every Nurse We Send Is Licence-Checked First

A nurse who needs three shifts of orientation is not much help on a Friday night. YTC Healthcare places nurses with recent emergency room experience who can pick up a patient load straight away, an approach shared with our hospital staffing services and physician staffing. Every one of them is verified against the College of Nurses of Ontario register before placement, and we run that verification in house instead of handing it to a third party. We confirm certifications, references, and police clearance, then match the nurse to the acuity and hours you are filling. Your compliance file is complete before they walk through the door.

What We Confirm on Paper

Active CNO registration, class of certificate, and any practice conditions, all confirmed before a nurse is offered to you. Background screening, immunization records, and certifications such as BLS, ACLS, and TNCC are collected and filed, so your records hold up to an audit.

Matched by Role, Not Availability

Triage, resuscitation, trauma bay, fast track, and minor treatment each ask for different experience. We place by role rather than by who happens to be free. For triage assignments we look for CTAS training and at least two years of recent emergency practice, in line with national emergency nursing standards.

Someone Picks Up at Night

Nights and weekends are the hardest hours to fill and the first to fall through. Our scheduling team is reachable around the clock, so a no-show at 3 a.m. starts a replacement call immediately, not a voicemail and a Monday morning callback.

Nursing Roles We Place in Ontario ERs

Emergency rooms run on a mix of licences and specialties. Our scheduling team is reachable around the clock, so a no-show at 3 a.m. starts a replacement call immediately, not a voicemail and a Monday morning callback, and for facilities managing patients at home, we also offer in-home nursing care and 24 hour home care services. We place across the full range, from triage through to charge nurse, for a single night or a full contract.

Where We Place Emergency Nurses in Ontario

Staffing pressure looks different in downtown Toronto than it does at a single-site hospital four hours north. Busy urban ERs need volume and specialty depth. Rural and northern sites often need one experienced nurse who can hold a whole night alone. We place into both, from our Mississauga head office and through nurses living across the province. If your site is not on the list below, call us and we will tell you honestly what we can reach.

Kitchener, Waterloo, and Guelph

Simple On Your End

From Your First Call to Their First Shift

Emergency staffing rarely comes with notice, so we keep the process short. Here is exactly what happens between the moment you get in touch and the moment a nurse clocks in, plus what we keep doing once they are on your schedule.

Emergency Nurse Staffing in Ontario - Your Questions, Answered

These come up most often with Ontario emergency rooms, urgent care centres, and clinics booking with us for the first time. If yours is not here, call our team at +1 365 737 4000.
How quickly can you fill an emergency nursing shift in Ontario?
Most confirmed requests are filled within 24 to 48 hours, and same-day placement is often possible for general ER roles. Highly specialised roles and remote northern sites can take longer. We will give you a realistic timeline on the first call, before you commit to anything.
Yes. Every nurse we place in Ontario holds a current certificate of registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario. We verify it against the public register ourselves rather than accepting a copy from the nurse, and we confirm the class of registration and any conditions attached to it.
Yes. We hold Ontario temporary help agency permit THA-0000002579 and Quebec permit YTC-AP-2202698. Since 1 July 2024, Ontario law requires temporary help agencies to be licensed, and facilities that knowingly use an unlicensed one can face penalties themselves. Our licence is publicly verifiable on the provincial register.
Rates depend on the role, the hours, the acuity, and the location, so every request is quoted individually. We confirm the rate in writing before a nurse is assigned, and nothing is added afterwards. Ask for a quote and you will get a number, not a range.
We place emergency nurses across the province, including the Greater Toronto Area, Ottawa, Hamilton, Niagara, London, Kitchener-Waterloo, Barrie, Kingston, and northern sites. Our head office is in Mississauga. Rural and northern placements are available, and we will say so upfront if a site sits outside our current reach.
Yes. Triage placements go to nurses with CTAS training and recent emergency practice. Trauma placements go to nurses holding TNCC certification. Tell us the role rather than just the headcount, and we will match on experience and certification instead of on who is free.
